Prof. K. Jaishankar the Founder / Principal Director and Professor of Criminology & Justice Sciences of the International Institute of Justice and Police Sciences, Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. Before founding the International Institute of Justice & Police Sciences (IIJPS) in 2022, Prof Jaishankar held several positions like Full Professor of Criminology, Dean, HOD, Syndicate Member, Professor of Criminology and Senior Assistant Professor of Criminology at two major public universities in India. He was awarded the NASI-SCOPUS Young Scientist Award, 2012 – Social Sciences. He is the founder of South Asian Society of Criminology and Victimology (SASCV) and Centre for Cyber Victim Counselling (CCVC). He was awarded the Commonwealth Academic Fellowship, 2009-10 tenable at UK, University of Leeds from October 2009 – March 2010. He is an United Nations Expert on matters related to Victims of Terrorism and member of the Scientific Commission of the International Society of Criminology (ISC) and was a member of the UNODC (United Nations office of Drugs and Crime) Core group of Experts (15 member group) on Identity related crime (2007-08) and Fellow of the African Centre for Cyber law and Cyber Crime Prevention. He is an International Ambassador of British Society of Criminology (BSC). He is Ranked Number 4 among 282 (Top 3%) Law and Legal Studies Scholars in India. He is Ranked 16th among the Top 25 Influential Criminologists in the World during 2010-2020. He is the founding father of the Cyber Criminology (2007) and Therapeutic Criminology (2023), academic sub-disciplines of Criminology and the proponent of Space Transition Theory of Cyber Crimes.
